Television work

I love writing for television, as it’s the ultimate medium for diving into unexplored worlds and untangling people’s quirks and motivations. Here’s a look at the shows I’ve worked on — and the shows I’d love to make going forward.

Series on the air…

NCIS

NCIS is the most watched drama in the world. And in season 17, they brought me on as a Staff Writer to dream up fresh adventures for Team Gibbs. As always, I found the best inspiration in real life. My first episode, “Musical Chairs,” was about a murder in an elite Navy band. My second episode, “Schooled,” took the team inside a fraud-filled for-profit college.

And in development…

IVF'd

IVF'd is a show I dream of making. It’s an hour-long comedic drama that plops you inside one of the 450 fertility clinics in the US where, despite the faint scent of bleach, babies are made. It never occurred to rockstar fertility doctor Alex Bloom that she might be infertile. But when it becomes clear that IVF is her only option, she’s forced to battle the highs and lows of the process, right alongside her patients.

HELLCATS

My book, CHEER!, inspired the series Hellcats on The CW, starring Ashley Tisdale and Aly Michalka and executive produced by Tom Welling. As a Consulting Producer, I got a crash course in what it takes to bring a TV show to life. Described as "Election meets Bring It On," the show got strong reviews when it aired. It continues to have a loyal cult following.

Something Sweet

In 2019, I found myself at the annual Sugar Baby Summit — a real-life convention for “sugar babies,” or 20-something women looking to date older, richer men. I went for an article, but ended up seeing a show. Lily Baxter is the Head of Marketing at Something Sweet — a hot new dating app she believes will take sugar mainstream. But when a sexual assault allegation rocks the office, she’s forced to face the impact of her work.
